Serving Lenoir and Surrounding Communities since 2000, our mission at Caldwell Animal Hospital is to help your pets live happier, healthier lives by providing exceptional quality medical and surgical care in a compassionate environment. 

What began as a vision for modern, state-of-the-art veterinary care has grown into a full-service veterinary hospital and doggie day camp, serving Lenoir and surrounding areas. 

Throughout our growth, we’ve remained committed to ensuring pets and their families receive individual attention and customized treatment plans in a comfortable, caring environment.

Dr. Rebecca Whisnant

Dr. Rebecca Whisnant

Veterinarian

Dr. Whisnant has been a valued member of our veterinary team for over two decades and is our longest-tenured veterinarian. Her professional interests include acupuncture and the care of exotic pets, and she’s passionate about helping every animal live a healthy, comfortable life.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Whisnant enjoys spending time with her family—her husband, daughter, and stepson—as well as their dog, cat, and bird. In her spare time, she loves hiking and exploring the outdoors.

Dr. Kiri de la Cerda

Dr. Kiri de la Cerda

Veterinarian

Dr. Kiri de la Cerda is a University of Florida graduate who practices small animal medicine. Her veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery and client education.

Dr. de la Cerda lives in the High Country with her husband and three children, plus two dogs, three cats, and their small flock of chickens. In her free time she enjoys all things outdoors including hiking and camping.
